Wilma Kirkpatrick and Helen O’Hare completed a commission for St Anne’s Cathedral, Belfast which took approximately five years to complete from the first
consultation with the then Dean of Belfast, the Very Rev. Dean John Mann.
Irish linen, supplied by Ulster Weavers of Northern Ireland, was used as the foundation fabric for all the pieces. These were embellished with appliqué hand dyed silk velvets and a mixture of hand stitching and digital embroidery. The linen stoles highlight the superb range of artefacts within the Cathedral building.
A selection of the work has been reproduced for the Linen Biennale.
