Explore your family history and create a beautiful, Irish linen panel to illustrate your research. In this full-day workshop, research expertise will be provided by the Crafty Historian, Dr Pamela Emerson. She will help you explore your genealogy and use the internet and local street directories to delve into your family history.
With the details pinned down, textile artist Emma Whitehead will provide you with all the guidance and materials needed to transform your hard work into a beautiful Linen Family Tree. Using Irish linen from Master Weavers, Flax Mill Textiles, and by applying applique and embroidery techniques you will create the tree, including leaves with text, illustrating your family history.
The workshop takes place amidst the inspiring artworks in Top Floor Art’s new Textile Studio Gallery, lunch is included on the day – please advise of any special dietary requirements when booking. Ages 12+ Children accompanied by an adult.
