About
This workshop will guide you in the creation of your own modern pinafore apron. The pinafore apron (also known as the cross-over or Japanese apron) was traditionally crafted in linen, due to its exceptional coolness and freshness in warm weather. It has several utility pockets, which were useful in the kitchen or the garden.
The pinafore apron was highly fashionable as a decorative garment, especially for children, in the early 20th century. This workshop focuses on a modern take on this style of apron, which is currently being revived as a uniform for trendy baristas.
An apron was once used as an introduction to sewing in school, and this workshop is a fantastic opportunity for those interested in dressmaking but don’t know where to start. Knowledge of using a sewing machine required. There are some machines available, however, you are welcome to bring your own.
Workshop price £45. If you wish to bring your own linen, price £25.
