In this exciting workshop, garment specialist, Jane McCann with colleague Sirpa Mörsky from Finland will work with participants to take reference from both modern and vintage linen garments.

They will give a demonstration of modelling on a tailor’s mannequin. This will be followed by an opportunity for participants to experiment on the stand and then to make their own pattern from the forms created.

This workshop is also taking place as part of the annual Ards and North Down Creative Peninsula event and is led by one of the curators and a contributing maker practitioner to the “Linen Futures 2018” exhibition at Art in the Loft, Portaferry (3rd – 26th August).

Participants must bring: 2 metres mid-weight calico / Scissors for paper & cloth / Pins / Tape measure / Soft & HB pencils/ hand sewing needles and thread.

This workshop is suitable for adults 18+ with some basic knowledge of dressmaking. Bookings can be made by phone or email. Suitable for ages 18+. Maximum 6 persons. Tea & Coffee provided. Please bring lunch.
