Setting off from R-Space Gallery, Lisburn after an introduction from the tour guide Fiona McKelvie and on to Banbridge.
About
Visitors & participants can travel with Fiona McKelvie, a renowned linen expert who will be on hand to engage on linen heritage, answer questions and enhance the experience of the processes used in each location.
The route will include a visit to Thomas Ferguson Irish Linen offering you a rare opportunity to see Irish Linen at its various stages of production. These include design, weaving, specialist cutting and hemming and ornamenting. There is also time to visit the shop for all your must have linen purchases.
We then make our way to Laurencetown Bleaching Green followed by a visit to FE McWilliam Gallery where there is an opportunity to buy refreshments or lunch. The journey continues at 2.15pm going to MConnvilles Scutch Mill returning to Lisburn at approximately 4.30pm.

This tour must be booked in advance, numbers are limited and is offerred free thanks to funding received from the Heritage Lottery Fund NI . Donations welcome.
